The Department of Homeland Security recently published a written statement that U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services plans to manage a trial for updated naturalization test. The U.S naturalization test has four parts: reading, writing, speaking and U.S history questions. The reading and writing part of the test are standard and this trial is for USCIS to improve and update the civic test.
“The naturalization test is a key step in becoming a U.S. citizen,” said USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou. “We welcome input from – and the participation of – stakeholders who are familiar with this important process, as we continue to improve and update our naturalization test, ensuring that it is consistent with industry testing standards.”
The results of the trial will be based on the feedbacks from stakeholders about structure of the naturalization test. USCIS will move this trial with the help of community-based organizations who work closely with immigrants which English is not their native language. USCIS will review the results of this trial to make changes on the test.
