TPS

In recent news, those who are TPS holder, Temporary Protected Status, have been allowed to apply for green cards. TPS, never gave an individual any legal status in the United States, it simply permitted them to work and stay here in the states due to a natural disaster or armed conflict in their home country.

Initially, the immigration system did not want to treat TPS as legal entry into the U.S; however it was recently determined that TPS holders are eligible to apply for green cards because a temporary protected status allowed individuals to enter the U.S in a legal manner.

This is especially positive for those who currently hold TPS; many lost hope once they found out that TPS would no longer be accepted. This brings many opportunities and hope to many families and individuals.
