New Regulations

ICE has been trying to enforce many states to help with detaining people who are suspected noncitizens. One of those states has been Florida. According to Immigration Impact,  “The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) recently announced that it has signed a 287(g) agreement with ICE”.

The 287(g) is a regulation that allows law enforcement, state and local police to detain or interrogate people who are or seem undocumented. This new regulation almost seems as though it is racially profiling people and has been criticized by many; this kind of enforcement implements fear between communities and law enforcement.

Many individual live with fear of driving or going out or even doing the minimal daily activity because they now feel targeted by the police. Immigrants should not feel this way especially in country where are people should be safe.
