USCIS Modifies Filing Location for Form I-907 in Connection with Pending Form I-140

Release Date: 12/13/2023

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is implementing a transition in the filing location for Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing, specifically when filed for a pending Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers. Effective December 15, USCIS will shift the filing location from the service centers to designated USCIS lockboxes.

This strategic change is part of USCIS's ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency by minimizing the operational footprint at service centers and reducing associated costs related to the intake of Forms I-140 and I-907. Moreover, the adjustment in filing location allows USCIS to centralize the digitization process for these forms, streamlining downstream electronic adjudication. This marks the second phase of a three-part transition plan.

It is important to note that this change in filing location does not apply to cases where Form I-140 is filed concurrently with an associated application, such as Form I-485, I-765, or Form I-131. USCIS plans to announce a separate filing location change for these forms soon. For now, filers should continue to submit such forms to the service centers, as indicated on the Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker page.

As a reminder, USCIS urges filers to adhere to the provided guidance on document submission to mitigate processing delays. Detailed instructions can be found in the Tips for Filing Forms by Mail.

Previously, USCIS communicated that, effective November 13, 2023, the filing location for Form I-907, when filed concurrently with Form I-140, transitioned from service centers to the USCIS lockbox (phase 1). Beginning December 13, 2023, USCIS will reject any Form I-907 filed with Form I-140 received at the previous service center address.

Commencing December 15, please use the following addresses when mailing Form I-907 to USCIS for a currently pending Form I-140. After January 14, 2024, USCIS will reject any Form I-907 filed for a pending Form I-140 that is received at the previous service center address.
