Daily Immigration News – Yasrebi Law

In order to reduce illegal border crossings, the democratic party and advocacies have been pressuring President Joe Biden to take steps toward protecting illegal immigrants in the country. The White House are considering different ways to provide temporary legal status along with work permits to illegal immigrants in the U.S. with an American spouse.

Last year, a letter was sent to President Joe Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas urging them to protect spouses of U.S. citizens and prevent separation of American families as well as to reunite those outside of the country:

“We write to urge you to use your parole authority to protect the spouses of U.S. citizens. To that end, the administration should consider granting parole in place, on a case-by-case basis, to the spouses of U.S. citizens who are physically present in the country without admission. We also urge you to create a family reunification parole process for the spouses of U.S. citizens who are outside the United States,” signed by eighty-six different members of the Democratic party.

With the November election coming up, Immigration issues has emerged as a top voter concern, especially among Republicans. Many voters have been pitting President Joe Biden against his Republican predecessor, Donald Trump. Trump has stated that, whether directly or indirectly, Biden’s decision to loosen on immigration policies have resulted in a rise in illegal immigration.

Though a White House spokesperson have confirmed that the administration is considering possible new policies regarding immigration, there was zero confirmation regarding specific actions.

“The administration remains committed to ensuring those who are eligible for relief can receive it quickly and to building an immigration system that is fairer and more humane,” the spokesperson stated.
