Recently, DACA was reinstated and once again individuals are eligible to apply for initial deferred action. The attempts to finish with DACA from the Trump Administration were annulled by a judge.
DACA is important to individuals because it gives them a chance to receive a work permit and protects them from deportation. It allows opportunities to young individuals who are brought to this country at a young age. In 2012, president Obama implemented DACA but in 2017 when president Trump came into office; claimed it was illegal and wanted to completely terminate with this action.
Though the Biden administration has committed to reinstate DACA this will only grant temporary protection but this is definitely not a permanent solution to help the status of individuals.
