Recently, Trump has implemented new regulations for asylum applicants on top of the fact that he has already made it extremely difficult for asylum seekers to get a chance to even apply for asylum. In a recent article published by, Immigration Impact, explains how Trump quickly trained border patrol agents to conduct “credible fear interviews”.
Lets keep in mind these interviews are crucial for those who are seeking asylum, given these are essential interviews and could potentially be the reason for their asylums to get granted. However, it causes a lot of worrisome because immigration is already known to mistreat individuals especially those seeking asylum, it raises questions on whether or not these officers are well trained and are able to conduct a proper interview in order to determine whether the person should be considered for asylum.
The US government should revaluate who they are putting to conduct these interviews because again, these interview are crucial and could become life changing for many.
