This week the Supreme Court sided with the Biden Administration on a long-period dispute over how the nation's immigration laws should be enforced.
The case concerns the Biden administration setting guidelines for those individuals the immigration authorities are targeting and arresting for deportation. The states of Texas and Louisiana blocked the guidelines Biden had enforced, arguing that it would prevent the immigration authorities from fulfilling their duties.
During the Trump administration, ICE agents and officers were ordered to deport anyone living in the United States without legal authorization. When the Biden administration took office, it set guidelines just enforcing arrest and deportation for anyone they encountered who was living in the U.S. without authorization but had committed crimes such as human trafficking and aggravated felonies. Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling today, the guidelines Biden's administration set will now be revived by focusing on public safety threats.
