CBP has recently launched another raid against a camp, which provides help for immigrants who are crossing the border. This camp was recently raided with assault rifles, helicopters, and several marked and unmarked cars. In the opinion of many, this action was very unnecessary and used over force. According to Immigration Impact, “In all three instances, the massive show of military force was preceded by surveillance and tactics that resulted in intimidating migrants and volunteers, interfering with aid and care efforts”. It is inhumane that officers use their authority to intimidate individuals during a critical and life threating time of their lives.
The argument here is, the border patrol needs to announce when they are planning on doing these raids or at least give a warning before taking action. Migrants crossing the border are vulnerable and should not be approached with aggressiveness. The camps are simply attempting to prevent individuals from dying and this should be taken into thought.
