Provision Allowing Special Immigrant Juveniles to Submit Form I-360 In-Person Prior to Turning 21

Individuals seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) classification, or their representatives, now have the option to schedule an appointment within two weeks before their 21st birthday to personally submit Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant.

It is crucial for SIJ petitioners to file Form I-360 before reaching their 21st birthday. Those approaching the age of 21 can contact the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 to arrange an SIJ expedite appointment at a local field office, facilitating the in-person submission of Form I-360 within the two weeks preceding their 21st birthday.

During the scheduled appointment, the SIJ petitioner or their representative can file Form I-360 in person at the field office. While the request's completeness will not be assessed at this stage, standard receipting procedures will be followed for processing. If the Form I-360 is correctly submitted, a Form I-797, Notice of Action, will be issued, with the receipt date being based on the physical receipt date at the field office.

For further details regarding the in-person filing of Form I-360 by SIJ petitioners before their 21st birthday, please refer to the Special Immigrant Juveniles webpage.
